The department of computer science welcomes four new faculty this fall; lecturers Kristel Clayville, Chris Fulton, and Ellen Kidane, and Postdoctoral Associate Shweta Yadav.
Clayville’s research is focused on how we think about technology, including areas such as bioethics and artificial intelligence. Chicago-area native Fulton brings a passion for teaching, and a background working in digital strategy as a consultant. Kidane earned both her BS and MS at UIC, and is interested in data science and programming in the healthcare and finance. Yadav’s research lies at the intersection of natural language processing, healthcare informatics, biomedical text mining, and computational social science.
Two additional hires, Nikita Soni and Jonathan Warrell, will join the department in January.
