If your time-sensitive questions and concerns would be better-addressed one-on-one, we encourage you to attend one of the several Drop-In Advising sessions the CS Advising Team are offering during the Spring 2024 semester. These sessions are for current Computer Science, Data Science, and Computer Science + Design majors.
These advising opportunities are intended to be used for questions and concerns related to the following:
- Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 Graduates
- Long-Term Degree Planning
- CS Advising Form Feedback
- Individual Course/Term Withdrawal
- Registration and Miscellaneous FAQs

In-Person Interactions
All parties are asked to opt for a virtual option if feeling ill.

Virtual Spaces
- Students must have their First and Last Name when entering the Zoom waiting room or will be denied admission.
- Students must be responsive within the first 2 minutes when entering the Zoom meeting room or will be placed back in the waiting room.

Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 Graduates
- Strongly recommended to visit by Week 9 to ensure program requirements are fulfilled before registration begins.
- Required to submit CS Advising Form prior to visiting Drop-In Advising.

Long-Term Degree Planning
- Please prepare and design your degree plan prior to visiting Drop-In Advising to seek CS Advisor feedback.
- Resources to prepare include: ENGR 100, UIC Catalog Sample Course Schedule, CS Dept. Graduating Planning Resources.

Other Topics of Discussion
- Required to submit CS Advising Form prior to Drop-In if discussing future term registration.
- Be sure to review your degree audit and prepare any questions, comments, and concerns ahead of time.
- Helpful for student to have their own personal device (Degree Audits, Emails, Bookmarks, etc.).

Note:The drop-in advising hours are first come, first served. Sessions will end on time, and we cannot extend them if there is a high volume of attendance. This is not an opportunity to remove holds for students who require a 1:1. Please plan accordingly.
